I just want to thank all of you that came to the mission fair, and all of you that wanted to come, to support me!!
There were four speakers and I was honored to be one of those speakers. I basically shared with them that the Lord has brought me a long way. I never thougth of overseas missions let alone, full time ministry. God called me into full time ministry in the summer of '05 where I went and joined a traveling revival team, and was able to minister to kids in over 50 churches across the states. He then called me back home where I had the pleasure of working side by side with my Father. During that time I was able to see how to build a strong children's ministry.
Then during August, I recieved my call to missions, Jer. 1:4-8 (check it out) I was up at a missions conference in Richmond, VA and the Lord presented to me that verse. It was a direct command to go. -You could go to my discussion board on my group "Shanna is moving to Africa in 2009" or on my profile page and look at my notes Labeled 'the call', 'desitnation: Africa', and 'confirmation, for a detailed describtion-
I will be joining three families in Africa who are currently church planting. I will then build children's ministries along side with the church planters. In doing so I will have to duplicate myself so that things will be able to run without me there. Now that is going to be a hard task, to get others on board with. You see over there is not and urgency to tell kids about Christ. They figure they will learn about Him as they get older. Over here in America the majority of Christians accept Christ at an early age from 8-12 yrs old. So they are truely missing the opportunity of telling these kids about Christ. I know that there is a ton of kids over there, the people that are already over there said that they planned something for the kids and anticipated 100 kids to show up and were totally out of resources to to the 500 kids that showed up. Now there should be an urgency to reach all of these kids due to the aid epidemic as well.
So please pray that God would equip me to do all that He has set out for me to do!!!
That basically was the speech I gave on Sunday Night!! Then Pastor Mark got up there and basically reminded everyone that I have been under the wing of Sheridan Hills for a while and have grown up here and he also expressed how proud he was to see me following God's will for my life. And when he was saying all that my family and I were brougth to tears and the reality of me really leaving really hit us.
Thank you all for your support in the biggest journey of my life!!!!
